Hey, my name is Molly Moore and I am currently a junior at Colorado State University. I am studying English Education. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. First, it was elementary education, however, the more and more I nannied over the summers, the more and more I realized I do not have enough patience for young kids. So, following in my mom's footsteps, I decided to pursue teaching high school. English has always been a strength of mine and I have always enjoyed the subject. I am excited to embark on my English Education career, as I see the daily positive impact my mom has in her student's lives, and I hope I can do the same.
I hope to work with at-risk students who are below-grade level in reading a writing. I also plan to take learning beyond the classroom, as I have seen the hugely positive impact it has on students. I have helped out in my mom's classroom and seen incredible transformations in her 4th-grade reading level 9th graders into high school readers who are committed to school and exited about learning. I plan on doing the same for my at-risk students. They are the population I feel I could make the biggest difference with, and would be most fulfilling for me to work with.
